Despite the countless epic deeds attributed to the first high king, his legacy has left behind a wake of adversaries, both living and long gone. The news of the rediscovery of his tomb has acted as a clarion call, drawing together an eclectic assembly of those who have harbored grudges against the dwarves through the ages.
In a desperate bid to safeguard the tomb’s sanctity and protect a dwarven city from impending doom, a group of brave adventurers is faced with an arduous mission. Their task? To infiltrate the gathering enemy legion, sow discord among their ranks, and execute acts of sabotage that will throw their adversaries into disarray.
Amidst this orchestrated Chaos, the adventurers aim to the gap with their relentless rival, who is racing to reach the tomb’s sacred chambers. The question that hangs in the air is not merely whether they can emerge victorious in this perilous endeavor, but whether their triumph will prove them worthy of the tomb’s most profound and coveted Secrets.
Heavy is the Crown is a Pathfinder adventure for four 8th-level characters, concluding the Sky Kings Tomb Adventure Path, a three-part monthly campaign in which a group of adventurers travel deep underground to discover a legendary dwarven kings tomb, seek subterranean treasures, and heal millennia-old injusticesall while stopping an ambitious villain from weaponizing those same discoveries. This adventure also includes exciting ways to continue the campaign, an overview of the subterranean Darklands, a gazetteer of a lost dwarven homeland, and fearsome creatures that prowl the darkest caves.
Each monthly full-color softcover Pathfinder Adventure Path volume contains an in-depth adventure scenario, stats for several new monsters, and support articles meant to give Game Masters additional material to expand their Campaign.
