Beschreibung
In the world of arcane academia, not all who embark on the path of scholarly pursuits see their studies through to the end. Some arcanists choose to leave their academic confines prematurely, abandoning their official titles and the privileges that accompany them. Despite often hailing from noble origins, these wayward mages frequently find themselves at odds with societal expectations, gaining reputations as arrogant eccentrics or outright delinquents. Their activities can range from minor roughhousing to more serious offenses like defying laws and engaging in tomb raiding, with their acquired treasures mysteriously finding their way to the black markets rather than academic archives.
However, amidst these renegade arcanists, a distinct group known as Faris emerges with a different approach. These individuals attempt to retain some of their noble prestige and the benefits of their initial training while embracing the life of adventure in the vast sands. Faris are especially focused on scouting and recruiting young talents, whom they aim to bring back to the Academy to replenish its ranks.
Their journey is not solely about recruitment. Faris also capitalize on their practical talents and experience in the field to handle rogue mages who have turned hazardous, often carrying hefty bounties. Moreover, they undertake commissions to escort important mages or caravans across the desert, navigating treacherous paths and protecting their charges from sand writhes and other dangers lurking in the desert.
While Faris may not possess the depth of arcane knowledge that their fully qualified peers do, they make up for this with a keen sense of travel smarts and survival skills. They adeptly use enchantments to enhance their abilities, allowing them to contend with a variety of adversaries encountered during their travels. This unique blend of arcane augmentation and real-world experience equips the Faris to face the unpredictable elements of the desert, making them indispensable guardians of those daring to traverse the perilous Sands.
